As Artistic/Technical Mainstage Director of FHCT, I am delighted to be celebrating this wonderful theater’s 20th anniversary!
20 years, can you imagine? Everyone here at the theater is very excited about our 20th anniversary “Season of Favorites”. It’s a wonderful chance to revisit some of your, and our, favorite plays and musicals and to delight in those great productions one more time.
20 years! The theater started as a fledgling group of hard-working, dedicated volunteers producing 2 to 3 shows per year and has grown to two full-time theaters with 5 Mainstage shows, 4 youth theater shows, 1 holiday show, a full season of summer stock, daily theater workshops and the summer teen camp. But that’s not all…
20 years! And in that time in addition to two full scale seasons we’ve added our annual fund raiser - Broadway in the Desert as well as an adult theater trip, the yearly Prizm awards, the youth fund raisers – The Big Apple Corp and our annual YABOY (Young Actors Benefiting Other Youth) production. But that’s not all…
20 years! That’s untold man hours of volunteer efforts. Not everyone knows that other than our staff and the occasional director and designer, everyone who works and plays at FHCT is a volunteer. From the actors on the stage, to the technical people in the wings, to the folks who swing a hammer or a paintbrush, they're all here for the love of theater. A full fledged musical can take easily 2500 - 3000 volunteer hours! And we’ve been at it 12-14 times a year for 20 years! Everyone has a great time and life-long friendships are often formed within our little theater family.
20 years and still growing! Please accept this as my invitation to you to join the fun. If you've ever wanted to "trod the boards" or you can swing a mean paint brush or you love to sew, you're just the person we're looking for. Call me personally and I'll put you in touch with one of our producers and help get you involved.
